SLDNThe Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) was founded in 1993. It works to assist members of the US Armed Forces that have been personally damaged by the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy the United States military now applies to gays and lesbians serving in armed forces. SLDN is a national organization that offers non-profit legal services, and it acts as a watchdog organization geared toward ending sexual discrimination against gay military personnel. Through grassroots organizing, outreach programs, and education, they seek the repeal of a shameful policy that asks gay and lesbian military to hide their true selves.
